AEWIN is glad to launch the newest 2U performant Network Appliance, SCB-1947, powered by single AMD Zen 4c EPYC 8004 CPU codenamed Siena. The latest AMD Siena CPU is a production of 5nm manufacturing technology, having up to 64 cores (extreme density of 2CCX/CCD) and 225W TDP with lower energy consumption compared to EPYC SP5. Benefitted from the features of Siena SP6 CPU including the best performance per watt, 6 channels of DDR5 with 2 DIMMs per channel, high speed I/O of 96x PCIe Gen5 lanes and 48x P-links CXL 1.1, AEWIN designs 1U(SCB-1945)/2U(SCB-1947) platforms with energy efficiency, cost effectiveness, great expandability, high computing power, and low-latency communicating ability. As SCB-1945 has been introduced last quarter, we will focus on SCB-1947 here.

The SCB-1947A is a 2U, single-socket Performant Network Appliance, supporting 8x PCIe 5.0 x8 slots for AEWIN self-design NICs with wide range of 1-100G copper/fiber interfaces with/without bypass function or other accelerators and PCIe 5.0 cards. Apart from 1x PCIe5.0 x16 slots at the rear side of SCB-1947A, it provides the flexibility to change 2x front panel PCIe slots to 1x PCIe x16 slot for installing off-the-shelf add-on card for additional functions required. It can support 400G NIC card installed such as NVIDIA Mellanox PCIe 5.0 NIC.

The SCB-1947C is a 2U, single-socket platform offering dual-width PCIe x16 slots to support GPU/FPGA cards for intelligent application. It is with short-depth chassis design of 600mm for easy deployment to enable real-time applications at edge. In addition to the GPU slots, there are 4x PCIe 5.0 x8 slots available for additional function required. For time-critical use case, tasks requiring AI workloads can be handled effortlessly at the edge by SCB-1947C.

Both models provide various storage options. There are two hot-swappable 2.5” SSD trays at the front panel for easy assembly and can support 2x U.2 PCIe5.0 NVMe SSD to speed up data-loading. Customer can also choose to have internal storage with high-capacity support, up to 3x native SATA/mSATA SSD. The mainboard itself also supports dual M.2 2280 NVMe SSD as high-speed OS boot devices. Regarding the reliability and cybersecurity, the SCB-1947 supports OT006B module for AEWIN Trusted Secure Boot (TSB V2 module) to deliver the first line of firmware security defense during boot-up process. TPM 2.0 module is also supported to allow authentication of hardware devices to ensure the integrity of the hardware platform.

Featuring great performance, excellent power efficiency, rich I/O, advanced security technologies, extraordinary expandability, and the best TCO, the SCB-1947 series is ready to be deployed easily for a variety of applications such as Networking, Cybersecurity, MEC, EdgeAI, Edge Computing, Storage, and more.
