AEWIN announces Select Solution for uCPE – CentOS plus

November 10, 2020- AEWIN, a leading builder of innovative network appliance for NFVI and uCPE infrastructure, verified the SCB-1830 as an Intel Select Solution for uCPE – CentOS, Plus configuration. This solutions program from Intel accelerates customers’ time to value by taking the guesswork out of assembling an optimized uCPE system and software stack by offering software and hardware configuration tested and verified for typical uCPE workloads. Pre-validated configuration will allow faster deployment to reduce the amount of time from expenditure to active production use to put your investment to work.

The SCB-1830 is a 1U rack-mount Intel Select Solutionfor uCPE, verified network appliance. Featuring Intel Xeon D-2187NT processor with 16 cores, the SCB-1830 is designed for performance, energy efficiency, and longevity that is ideal for intelligent edge and network service applications. To further enhance scalability and business agility, multiple Network Expansion Modules of various port and speed configurations can be added to augment the onboard 4x 10GbE SFP+ and 10x 1G RJ45 ports. In addition, a PCIe Gen3 x8 standard PCIe slot is available for additional accessories. Hardware-enhanced data security from available Intel QuickAssist Technology (Intel QAT)provides built-in acceleration of cryptographic and compression workloads. Storage options include 2x 2.5″ SATA drives and 1x mSATA module. Together, this configuration passes the stringent performance requirements for Intel Select Solutions Plus verification that customers demand.

The software environmentis anchored on CentOS, a popular Linux distribution based on the Red Hat codebase hardened by 10 years of security updates. This provides a low maintenance platform that designed to be reliable and secure. KVM/QEMU provides a virtualization platform to host virtualized network functions (VNF). Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) is here as well to provide user space route to bypass kernel polling-mode driver to allow enhanced packet handling performance. These form the foundation to build the ideal network stack with various VNFs designed around your specific network requirements with the flexibility to prepare for the needs of tomorrow.
